Fed:Tas Libs threaten to disendorse Barns for refugee comments
MELBOURNE, Jan 21 AAP - The Tasmanian Liberal Party has threatened to disendorse high-profilecandidate Greg Barns for attacking the federal government's stand on asylum seekers.
The party will hold a special meeting next month at which Mr Barns will have to satisfactorilyanswer a complaint against him or be stripped of endorsement for this year's state election.
Mr Barns, who is chairman of the Australian Republican Movement, first raised his concernsabout the government's "Pacific solution" during the federal election.
