Fed: Senator Fielding expresses shock at Chipp's death

Family First Senator STEVE FIELDING says he's shocked at the death of Australian Democrats
founder DON CHIPP .. who influenced his decision to enter politics.

Senator FIELDING says Mr CHIPP .. who died yesterday at the age of 81 .. was a mentor
.. a role model and a friend.

He says it was a meeting with Mr CHIPP during the 2004 election campaign .. that helped
him decide to have a shot at federal politics.
